For cargo that has to be there this week. Air freight costs considerably more per kilo than sea, so it’s the right choice when the cost of being late is higher than the cost of flying it urgent replenishment, high-value goods, or a deadline you can’t move.
What’s included
- Collection and delivery
- Export and import declarations
- Airline booking and air waybill
- Security screening and handling at both ends
Chargeable weight — this catches people out
Airlines charge on whichever is greater: the actual weight, or the volumetric weight worked out from the dimensions. Light bulky cargo gets priced on the space it takes up, not what it weighs, which can be a large and unwelcome difference.
Send us dimensions as well as weight and we’ll tell you which one applies before you commit to anything.
Transit times
Air transit depends on flight availability, the commodity, and clearance at destination. We give you a realistic estimate at booking and keep you updated if it moves.
Dangerous goods must be declared in advance. We need the UN number, class and packing group, and a completed dangerous goods declaration before the shipment is booked. Sending them undeclared is a criminal offence in most countries, the carrier will refuse the shipment, and any insurance is void. If you’re not sure whether what you’re shipping counts, send us the safety data sheet and we’ll tell you.
What we need to quote
- Collection and delivery addresses
- What the goods are, and the HS code if you have it
- Gross weight and dimensions — both, for air
- Whether any part of the consignment is classed as dangerous goods
- The date it needs to arrive by
Need it there fast?
Send the route, the weight and the dimensions. We’ll come back with pricing and the earliest realistic arrival.
